Driving Secure, Scalable Growth with Cloud ERP
For over 25 years, Harper Industries has developed leading products for agriculture, hydraulics, landscaping, and sports turf under the DewEze, Butler, and Harper brands. Headquartered in Harper, KS, its signature products include bale beds, hydraulic kits, and turf sweepers. Known for durability and innovation, Harper Industries products are trusted by ranchers and crews worldwide.
The company initially partnered with Decision Resources in 2010 for its first on-premise SyteLine implementation. Over the following 14 years, Harper’s ERP system was continually optimized to meet emerging business needs. By 2024, proactive security planning sparked a comprehensive modernization initiative.
A cloud-based deployment of SyteLine presented an opportunity to strengthen security, improve operational efficiency, and support ongoing growth. After thorough consideration, Harper Industries chose to partner with Decision Resources again to move its system to the cloud with Infor CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine).
Powering Next-Gen Innovation with Cloud ERP
As Harper prepared to transition to a centralized web-based solution, they outlined key project goals for their cloud upgrade:
- Enhance Security by Moving Off On-Premise Servers
- Enable Future Growth with Scalable Architecture
- Improve Cost Allocations, Analysis, and Controls
- Support Data-Driven Decision Making by Improving Access to Data
A five-month project timeline was established for the upgrade. Harper’s existing technical expertise and organizational readiness enabled quick progress, complemented by clear governance and business-driven testing from Decision Resources. Together, the teams’ efforts resulted in a well-coordinated delivery.
Gearing Up for Go-Live
Harper Industries had a successful go-live in early 2025 with minimal business disruption. The project was executed on time and significantly under budget. Key contributors to the smooth upgrade included alignment on objectives, proven implementation methodology, deep discrete manufacturing expertise, and valuable team member continuity from prior engagements.
Great implementations rely on clear documentation, team ownership, and adherence to project objectives. Harper excelled at all three. Comprehensive process documentation drove faster user adoption and onboarding, while active participation across departments kept efforts focused.
“The dedication and time spent by this team are why we were able to meet the
Go-Live date we established and deliver a successful implementation that came in
well under budget.”-Jennifer Rose, VP of IT, Harper Industries
Business Impact
With Infor CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine) in the cloud, Harper Industries stays current, secure, and flexible. Teams can now focus on growing their business without worrying about outgrowing their ERP. Harper exceeded all project objectives:
Robust Security
Built-in security protocols, real-time monitoring, authentication, and frequent updates keep Harper’s environment secure while reducing the risk of cyberattacks, ransomware, data corruption, and loss of data.
Future-Ready Scalability
Flexible resource capacity in the cloud means Harper can continue expanding its product lines and operations without costly new infrastructure or reimplementation.
Real-Time Visibility
Accurate, live data enables users to focus on analysis rather than manual database maintenance. Centralized data views and reports provide key metrics by department, empowering teams and strengthening collaboration.
Building on this visibility, teams are leveraging the scheduling module more extensively to optimize resources and make real-time schedule adjustments, keeping shop floor operations running smoothly.
Efficient Order Fulfillment
Harper leverages built-in configuration functionality for their DewEze truck beds, Butler Beds, and DewEze Hydraulics product lines to reduce manual tasks, accelerate production cycles, streamline order fulfillment, and boost dealer satisfaction.
Next-Level Employee Enablement
With a workforce spanning multiple states, moving to the cloud has boosted workforce autonomy by improving accessibility, eliminating risk, and freeing up internal capacity.
The Future of Harper Industries
Transitioning to Infor CloudSuite Industrial has enabled Harper Industries to operate with greater efficiency and security. With a modern ERP, the company is well-equipped to continue delivering innovative, durable, and trusted products globally.
“We completed our Cloud integration in February, with the primary goal of enhancing security by eliminating the need for on-premise servers. The integration went very smoothly, and the team at DRI was excellent to work with. At least one member of the DRI team had also assisted us during our initial Syteline implementation back in 2010, which was a tremendous benefit since they were already familiar with how we operate our business.”
