Driving Shipping Efficiency with SureShip

In 1937, businessman Albert Simonds was seeking new ways for his operators to exercise safe, hands-free control while manufacturing optical lens grinding machines. Albert’s research led to the invention of the first modern footswitch and Linemaster Switch Corporation’s founding in 1952. Today, the company manufactures over 300 wireless, air-powered, electrical, and linear footswitch models from its Woodstock, CT, and Plainfield, CT, facilities.

Each year, over 800,000 footswitches and foot controls are shipped out globally to customers across the medical, industrial, and commercial equipment sectors. Linemaster has leveraged Infor CloudSuite Industrial (CSI) ERP for decades to streamline their operations. As shipments continued to scale, Linemaster looked for new ways to optimize their shipping and fulfillment processes to save time and costs without leaving their ERP. Partnering with Decision Resources, the team chose to implement SureShip, a fully integrated shipping automation tool for Infor CloudSuite Industrial.

How Shipping Works in CloudSuite Industrial

Infor CloudSuite Industrial (CSI) offers basic out-of-the-box shipping features through the order shipping form and pick and pack workbenches. However, lack of carrier integration means users must work across multiple systems to ship.

For the average CSI user, shipping starts in the ERP, where warehouse staff execute transactions to move parts out of inventory and ship against a customer order. After parts are packaged, employees must ship those packages another time through external carrier applications like UPS World Ship or FedEx Ship Manager to generate a label, tracking number, and other required documents. Working in two or more systems can be slow and error-prone due to duplicate data entry, low visibility, manual exports, and siloed communication.

Some companies turn to third-party shipping tools to address these gaps. However, many still require users to leave the ERP and work in separate applications, which can continue the cycle of disconnected workflows and manual processes.

Making the Switch to SureShip

Prior to partnering with Decision Resources, Linemaster had been using a third-party shipping integration platform for CSI. Seeking to bring shipping directly into CSI, Linemaster decided to implement SureShip. Built on native Mongoose architecture with direct API carrier integration, SureShip enables teams to manage the entire shipping process without leaving their ERP system.

The Road to Go-Live

Linemaster and Decision Resources agreed to an aggressive timeline, with kickoff in September and a target go-live in mid-November. Both teams remained highly engaged throughout the project with daily status meetings. Linemaster’s adaptability, clear prioritization, and strong team alignment helped drive an effective implementation.

Business Impact

SureShip was successfully implemented on November 17, 2025, just weeks after kickoff. Now, Linemaster connects directly to FedEx, UPS, and DHL right in their Infor CloudSuite Industrial ERP. Automatic document generation for international documents like NAFTA or USMCA certificates or hazardous materials declarations simplifies international shipments.
